Analog Devices has expanded its investments in research and development to create resilient operational practices and modernize its fabs for sustainable production, allowing it to target high-demand markets such as industrial and automotive. However, there are still supply constraints impacting components that are used for battery charging and monitoring, likely due to the demand for electric vehicles. Despite this, Analog Devices’ inventory is expected to improve this year, with half of its portfolio seeing lead times shorten to less than 13 weeks. Overall, Analog Devices’ long-term strategy is expected to improve its supply and address these challenges.

NXP’s sensor supply is stabilizing, but the constraints for MCUs continue. Reports suggest that although lead times for certain parts have shortened, delivery schedules remain inconsistent, making it challenging for production planning. Shortages have significantly impacted the automotive and industrial customers, with a backlog of orders showing minimal improvements, and quarterly price increases adding to their frustration.

Demand for Microchip’s MCUs has softened, and supply in the open market is improving. Additionally, EEPROM is experiencing a rise in demand. While demand for consumer end markets has been on a downward trend, home appliances have been a bright spot with customers using EEPROMs to simplify programming and maintenance.

We hope that this issue of our industry newsletter has provided valuable updates on the current trends and challenges facing the aerospace and electronics industry.
